Hello OC Consortium! I've been doing a lot of thinking recently, so here's one of my idea-posts for all of you to consider!
It feels like these past few months have been rocky due to my absense. dA in general has made me rather jaded, and it's been hard for me to keep this show running. I'm trying to pull myself out of it though, because I actually haven't done what I wanted to do with this group yet, which is to make it an accessible, glimmering paradise for hardcore story-tellers to find and connect with one another--and, of course, to be an inspiration for aspiring story-tellers.
I think it's important that this happens, because I think dA needs a group like this. Heck, I want to see it happen!
A lot of this is mostly just going to be a lot of work on my end, but some things concern you guys. I promise they're fun.
First on the list: I'm going to be doing some backroom quality control checks, which is just a term I made up to feel fancy. Really, it just means I'm going to do a few things to tighten up the group, like reorganizing stuff on the front page and removing some things from the gallery that don't meet the quality guidelines. (So if something of yours is removed, that would be the reason why.)
I'm debating whether or not I want to allow some things into the group that I've previously barred, like character bios, maps and places pertaining to your worlds, and 18+ content (don't hold your breath for this one). Not going to go into too much detail on these right now, but let me know if you like the sound of any of them.
Speaking of changes, here's a fun thing that requires some participation! I know you guys have expressed a liking for our current banner in the past, but I feel like it's time for a new one. I want it to be a shiny, animated banner that features artwork you made of your OCs (though...probably can't be
everyone's, if I'm going to be realistic.)
This will be good for publicity, I think. After all, groups with flashy banners are 72% more likely to be viewed...and their admins are 90%
less likely to make up statistics on the spot!
I'm thinking of making a contest out of it. Yes?
One last thing before I wrap this up. Always feel free to reccomend this group to people you think have really outstanding characters! And...well, yeah, that's about it.

Were we going to do another Secret Santa project this year? It's December and I haven't heard anything about it, so I wanted to ask. As far as I could tell, everyone had a blast last year and I hope we do one again.
I probably wouldn't submit it. If it helps you, feel free to recommend it, but I'd like to see only finished works placed in the galleries.
